Avery Elle + Altenew: Viking Amaze Card

Avery Elle + Altenew Viking Amaze Card by Maria Byrd at CraftsyByrd.blogspot.com

Avery Elle Viking stamp is adorable but I didn't like the sentiment inside the beard.  I used an X-Acto blade to carefully cut it out.  Also, when I first used the stamp, the ink beaded up and made spotty impressions. So, I gently washed it with dish detergent and pat-dry with paper towel.

Viking image stamped on a cold press watercolor paper and colored with Derwent Inktense. Fern and sentiment (from Altenew Floral Frame) heat-embossed in white on a black cardstock.  Glossy Accent used to create a dimensional effect on the hearts and dots were made with Sakura white gel pen. Black-and-white polka dot paper from my stash die-cut with Lawn Fawn Stackables.  The result is a simple but cute card.

(I'm not really good at photo taking.  Do you have any pointers you can share?)

  2. Fun card! I have thought about cutting stamps but, usually so nervous I'll make a mistake...not so adept at using an Xacto knife!! So glad you joined us at CTD!

  4. Hey Maria!! Great card. Yes, the ivory background does look better then the other color. Try taking your pictures in natural lighting. Otherwise I can see all of the details in your photo. Thank you so much for playing with us this week at CASology.
