Lawn Fawn: Happy Haunting Penguins

Lawn Fawn Happy Haunting Penguins Halloween Card by Maria Byrd | CraftsyByrd.blogspot.com

A pair of cute and fun penguins out for a Happy Haunting!  Lawn Fawn stamps used:  Here We Go A-Waddling, Winter Village, and Booyah!  Lawn Cuts used:  Leafy Tree Backdrop, Large Wreath, Little Picket Fence Border, Stitched Tree Border, and Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables.  I found out about Lawn Fawnatics Create a Scene! Challenge on Sunday morning and it was due that night.  So, I created the card in between doing laundry and other chores.

I knew I wanted to do a Halloween Card with a big bright yellow-orange moon.  So, I started from there and came up with the rest as I worked.  Moon was the inner piece of Lawn Cuts Large Wreath.  The moon and background were colored with Ranger Distress Oxide Inks using a blending tool and misted with water to get the light spots.

The house from Winter Village didn't look right against the moon if it had a white outline from the die cut.  So, to make the elements uniform, all were fussy cut (close trimmed) where needed.  I first daubed the fence in shades of brown, but ended up making it darker with Copic Grays.  I also recolored the trees with Copic Markers.  The small trees and others were colored using Copic Markers.  The big tree was die cut from a black cardstock and trimmed.

I stamped a few stars and heat embossed them in Holographic while the sentiment was done in Black Sparkle.  "Haunting" was stamped upside down to add a bit of fun and something unexpected.  The hook for the Pirate and a treat bag for the witch were added along with a second house to fill in the space in between the first two smaller trees.  Both penguins were raised on foam tape.  Lastly, for more shine, I brushed Wink of Stella in Clear over the moon, hats, and treat bag.

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges:
