Lawn Fawn: Happy Rub-A-Dub Stinkin' Cute Spring Card
A Spring themed card is perfect after the recent winter storm. Something "flora and fauna" but instead of bunnies, there are ducklings frolicking around a cute skunk with flowers on her head, while a blue bird sings on a nearby tree. Tulips, Easter eggs, and butterflies complete the "Happy Spring" scene.
The sky, grass and tree trunk are colored with Distress Ink. A template cut from Lawn Fawn's Meadow Borders is used for the grass. Ducks and skunk are brushed with Wink of Stella for a glittery shine. Blue bird, flowers, eggs, and butterflies are first colored with Copic Markers and then coated with Glossy Accent for dimension. I added flowers, a duck and a butterfly inside the card for interest.
It's fun to create the card but it has been a while since I fussy cut (trim close to edge) such tiny elements. The stems of tulips are tricky, so some have shaky edge. Ha! Ha! Ha! Usually, I'd use coordinating dies or ScanNCut, but for some reason I didn't on this one. I think this is a good scene though for a shadow box or pop-up card in the future.
I mailed this to someone who lives in Washington state as part of a card exchange. She has confirmed receipt of the card and I'm happy it made it to her safely. Thank you USPS!
Keep warm and stay safe!
